Room 418, Tuesday morning, before classes

Door's studying for Driver's Education. She's not debating whether putting Seely's things in the hallway is actually more trouble than he's worth. She's not that petty.

Mostly. Even if she probably did build up enough good karma last week by helping to find and rescue Bridge and Z, that she can afford a little pettiness.

Door sits up and folds her legs crosswise. "I get that you were somebody else this weekend. I don't blame you for that. Just... " She shakes her head and makes an erggh noise.

"Why is it you seem to be interested in every girl...and possibly boy... on this island but me?"

"Because you're my roomie and I care about you too much to sleep with you."

What? It made perfect sense to Seely.

Door winces. "He said that. Except for the part about not sleeping with me."

Seely flailed a little. "He said that because he was a drunk Irish jerk who only cared about getting laid."

"I noticed. Eventually." She's trying to pick this apart, which mostly manifests as picking at her bootlaces. "I don't really get it though. What 'I care too much about you to sleep with you' means. It's just sex."

Seely rubbed his face. "Because it's not just sex."

"Why not?" Door rests her hands on her knees to stop them fidgeting with her laces.

"Because we're living together," Seely replied. "And I like that, I like having you as my roomie, but it means that if do have sex and something goes wrong we don't have the option of backing off and giving each other space."

Door considers the fact that Seely very definitely didn't sleep in the room after his radio broadcast last night. "Okay, fair point, I suppose."

"I do like you Door," Seely said. "Enough I don't want to risk wrecking what we already have because I couldn't keep it in my pants."

Door nods slowly. "I like you too. It's not that I minded it not happening. I just wondered if there was something about me."

"Oh, trust me, it's not you," Seely grinned. "I meant it when I said he was an idiot for not coming back here after detention. A lucky idiot since it means I don't have to track him down and kill him, but definitely an idiot."

Which makes Door duck her head and grin , because in a possibly disturbing and bloodthirsty way, that's kind of adorable.

"You'd have trouble doing that since he was in your body," she points out. "Or you were in his, or something.

Seely pffted and waved a hand. "Details, I could totally find a way around that."

"You have first threatening and possible bodily harm rights if anything like that happens with anybody else," Door promises.

Seely tried not to look too eager about that. "I'll be there with bells on."

"That might let him--" Or her, she supposes, not that she's really considered it. "--know you're coming," Door points out.

"Not if they're really little bells."

"I'm sure your bells are quite big, though," she says, stifling a snerk. And blinking a bit at her Driver's Ed manual which has just turned into a key lime pie.

Seely coughed and smiled. "Well, I don't like to brag."

He raised an eyebrow at the pie. "So that explains the pillow."

"It's been happening all morning, from what I've heard passing by in the corridor."

"Has it been happening to all kinds of stuff?" Seely, being the mature, focused person that he was, immediately didn't start worrying about his porn.

"The new Vice Principal had his chair turn into pie, I think," she giggles.

Seely snickered. "Was he sitting in it at the time?"

"It did sound like it. It was on the morning announcements."
